- ... that Tranmere Rovers players were each given a £10,000 bonus for winning the 1991 Football League Third Division play-off Final?

- QPQ is good. No image to review. Hook is interesting. Hook is under 200 characters. Article is long enough and neutral. Article is new enough. Article cites inline facts. Ref 15 needs a title parameter. Article is neutral. Supporting reference is paywalled, so AGF. However, the article says they would receive 10,000 for winning, not that they actually received the money. would suggest rewording to "were each promised a £10,000 bonus for winning the 1991 Football League Third Division play-off Final". No copyvios in spotcheck on ref 4. Therapyisgood (talk) 03:13, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Infobox
- An IP fixed the obvious booboo here, but both teams still link to Bolton Wanderers F.C.
Lead
- Worth mentioning the relevant tiers of the English football league system? (Doing so might require splitting the already-long first sentence.)
Tranmere dominated the match
— This doesn't seem to be supported by the body of the article- Done. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- The article currently describes six first-half goal-scoring opportunities, three for Bolton and three for Tranmere. Can that really support the new wording,
Tranmere dominated the first half
? --Usernameunique (talk) 07:44, 27 March 2021 (UTC)- No it doesn't. It describes a cross (not a shot) which Nixon tipped over, then a shot from Irons and a header from Malkin (both Tranmere). I've added in a half-time marker to help. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:53, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- My mistake—editing when tired. But I'm still not sure that two chances in 45 minutes is enough to say a side "dominated." See my edit. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:35, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Peterborough ended their following season in sixth position
— Cool, I was really wondering how Peterborough's next season went.- Nothing wrong with red links. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- Nope. But Peterborough? --Usernameunique (talk) 07:39, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- What's Peterborough doing in this article? --Usernameunique (talk) 08:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Route to the final
having scored more goals than Bolton
— Was the tie breaker goals scored, or goal differential?- I swung on this, goal diff then goals scored. I'm not sure. It's not particularly relevant as Grimsby had better both, but I've asked at the project if someone has a reliable source to say why. If RS can't be found then I'll just remove the sentence and stick with the RS which have the league table, albeit without reasoning. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- Makes sense. Maybe just something like "won the tiebreaker" for now? --Usernameunique (talk) 07:46, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
- No, we'd never use "won the tiebreaker" in BritEng in this context. It's a simple matter of which method was chosen and if we can't find RS we'll just go for the table as it's given in RS. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:53, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

- Any reason the third paragraph is so much shorter than the second, despite that semi having had nearly twice as many goals? Notably, the second paragraph describes how and by whom each goal was scored, whereas the third says only by whom they were scored.
- Sources didn't cover the other semi-final in any real level of detail. You can take a look at them and see for yourself, there's not much more I can extract. But for GA, the key is the most important facts are covered. Indeed, probably even just the score would suffice. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
two goals from Steve Cooper
— Minute (or approximate time)?- Nope, not in the source. Even the standard results listings in that source just say Cooper scored twice and give no times. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Summary
Tranmere's Scottish centre forward Jim Steel
— What's the relevance of him being Scottish?- Just detail that was present in the sources. I have been told, in the past, that it's a shame that the final match reports are so brief and/or lacking in details. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Another header from Malkin
— When?- Source doesn't say. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Nixon then made his first save of the game
— What about his tip in the 11th minute? Also, what minute (or general time)?- Two separate sources each having reported slightly differently, trying to conflate them all, this slipped through, adjusted. No idea of time. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Paul Comstive also missed an opportunity to put Bolton ahead
— When? Details?- None of the above. A shame because it sounded like he dropped a clanger. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Brian Glanville, writing in The Sunday Times declared that "there could scarcely have been a more appropriate scorer"
— Because of his close chances before?- Yes, I think that's what he was thinking. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Details
- Time of match not given
Post-match
- I imagine the shortness of this section (and lack of input from Phil Neal) is because there isn't much in the sources?
- Yes, literally nothing from Phil I could find. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

— See above.- No worries with red links. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 07:37, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

- The Rambling Man, the information regarding Bolton's following season is still mostly incorrect. The link to their following season is correct; their place is incorrect; they didn't even make the playoff that the article says they won; and they sure weren't promoted to the Second Division. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:51, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
