  • This article needs to be expanded. Compare the rather sketchy match report with that given in 2011 FA Cup Final for instance. It generally feels a bit light in other areas too. Here are a few comments on the material that's there now:

Lead

  • To be an adequate summary of the article it needs to include a summary of the match itself, once that's been expanded.
  • "The match ended in a scoreless draw, which meant that each team held the trophy for six months each.
  • *"Arsenal qualified for the 1991 FA Charity Shield, on virtue of winning the 1990–91 Football League First Division". Should be by virtue.
  • "The last meeting between both teams ...".

Background

  • " Tottenham Hotspur won 3–1 in the semi-finals at Wembley Stadium." Why "semi-finals" in the plural?

Match

  • "Tottenham defender Terry Fenwick, who recovered from a double leg break replaced Justin Edinburgh in the first eleven." Tense is a bit skew-whiff there: "had recovered"?

Thanks for the review; I have addressed each comment except two. I agree that the article is somewhat lightweight, but I'm not sure how it can be more comprehensive, given press and general interest over a Super cup is minimal, in comparison to a FA Cup or Champions League final.

There isn't a DVD or VHS of the game available (as I would imagine with any Charity Shield before Sky invented football), so the match summary was obtained from part-ITN news report, part-match reports from archives. It ending 0-0 did not help neither and I had a good dig around just to find any post-match quotes from either manager. --Lemonade51 (talk) 15:26, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

But there are newspaper reports, such as this one from The Times. Malleus Fatuorum 20:44, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately I don't have access to the Times Archives, so I can't verify if I have seen that article or not via Nexis. There are match reports/previews about it, but they discuss little about the game, rather on what chances do either team have for the coming season. The ones I did find useful (The Guardian, The Guardian Weekly, The Times, The Independent) have all been cited, as well as an AFP report. --Lemonade51 (talk) 21:37, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You put me in a difficult position. This is an article about a football match that contains almost no information about the match itself. It might be possible for me to email a download of The Times article to you, which has detailed match stats for instance, but if you live in the UK you could simply join your local library and read it for yourself online. As things stand though, I'm not prepared to list this article as a GA unless details of the match are beefed up. Malleus Fatuorum 03:47, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Have now made an attempt to beef the summary and lead up. --Lemonade51 (talk) 17:15, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
