Year Zero in the Anno Domini system

According to the wikipedia article on year zero, this number did not exist in the Julian or Gregorian calendars. Therefore, decades start at year 1 of that decade, and run for 9 years following. See Year zero.

That is true for ordinal decades. Which are virtually never used. Cardinal decades are defined by their shared "tens-place" when written out. The 1990s is the set of years of the form 199X. --Khajidha (talk) 18:23, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
