Removal of blues rock genre
[edit]Nowhere has this song been described as one of Hendrix's more blues-based songs. It is referred to as "spacy" by Allmusic and as a "brain-frying psychedelic epic" by NME. This would all point to psychedelic and acid rock. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.105.147.206 (talk) 15:27, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- Fair point. Good call. Andre666 (talk) 15:31, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Experimental Rock?
[edit]The song has been referred to as one of Hendrix's more experimental works in various places. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.105.147.206 (talk) 15:45, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hendrix experimented a lot, as part of an era of music which supported this practice. It should not be classified as experimental rock for that reason though, as it's still follows relatively conventional trends and doesn't feature any strange instruments or anything. Psychedelic rock covers it, and acid rock is an extension. Andre666 (talk) 16:10, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Possible reference to Sec. 1983 of the Civil Rights act of 1871?
[edit]Read somewhere that it's an allusion to this... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:8B83:4860:58D:190C:D4F2:3950 (talk) 21:26, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
