Name of constituency
[edit]I have removed references in the text to the constituency the by-election took place in being Sutton Carshalton. This is because this was a) a red-link to a non-existent article for a Sutton Carshalton (UK Parliament constituency) b) the title of this page is 1976 Carshalton by-election so the use of Sutton Carshalton was inconsistent. I am aware that at points the seat was referred to as the Carshalton Division of Sutton or Sutton Carshalton for brevity, but I think for the moment it is better to go with Carshalton here for consistency (and it is important to actually link to the article about the seat).
