NYC vote

[edit]

It would be nice if you told how many votes and which percentages the candidates got of the New York City vote in this (and other elections). Yes, I know we have only to add up the five counties, but when you are having a discussion, it's nice to have the facts right there at your finger tips. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.162.253.101 (talk) 01:06, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a table of New York City (5 boroughs citywide total) presidential election results going back to 1900 (modern NYC was incorporated in 1898; Bronx County splitting off within to form the current 5 boros in 1914) that I made a while back, although it is currently buried only to be found in the Politics of New York City article. 1972 NYC result is 51.46% McGovern (D) to 48.27% Nixon (R)... I don't know if people think it would be a good idea to include NYC results in each NYS election article...? Just including the NYC citywide total result for one POTUS election by itself wouldn't really work for a new section/table to merit inclusion, so if we were to add NYC results we could perhaps just easily add this historical result table to the side (left or right) of each article, or alternately create a new separate section/table (and map?) on each article just for all 5 boroughs AND the NYC citywide total result to add up to for that year, although that would be a tad redundant since the 5 boroughs/counties are included–albeit hard to sort out and find each of the 5 boroughs and count altogether to get NYC results–amidst the full 62 statewide counties of NYS table.
