[edit]Ford Sporting League should be merged here, as it was not a tournament in its own right but merely a reward scheme akin to the current Fair Play League and therefore not independently notable -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 08:52, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Support - I don't believe that this "reward scheme" is notable enough for its own article. – PeeJay 09:12, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Comment - I agree that this scheme doesn't need its own article, especially if the system was only in place for one season, and would support a merger. However if the Ford Sporting League applied only to league matches (which appears to be the case), then I'd have thought The Football League 1970–71 would be the more likely candidate for the actual merger, with perhaps a brief mention in this article (1970–71 in English football). This perhaps raises a wider point about what YYYY–YY in English football should look like compared to The Football League YYYY–YY... I've noticed a lot of duplication of league tables for example. Still, I think that's a discussion for another day. --Jameboy (talk) 21:52, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
