The 2002 Anaheim Angels we're a team of destiny and their first World Championship, BUT what if the 1962 Los Angeles Angels we're a team of champions. If the season ended April 22, they would've been a best 2 out of 3 American League Playoff between the Angels and the reigning World Champions New York Yankees. In the end it would've been the Angels against the Pittsburgh Pirates, not the San Francisco Giants in the 1962 World Series. That meant the New York Yankees in turn would've fired manager Ralph Houk one year earlier, and Roger Maris would've been traded after the flop of '62 and the Yankees would've never tasted World Championship glory again until 1977.
