Question - 23 June 2010

[edit]

Question moved from main page: Masten Gregory took over Olivier Gendebien's car when Gregory's car retired due to gearbox failure.[1] As such, shouldn't the 11th-placed entry be technically a "shared drive" and listed as Gendebien/Gregory? Also, since the shared drives were ineligible for points since 1958 and probably even against the rules,[1] why wasn't Gregory's 11th place finish disqualified? - Comment added by User:Cherkash 23:53, 25 February 2010.

Good questions both, and when properly sourced answers are found feel free to add the results into the body of the main article. Pyrope 03:35, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it should be listed as "Gendebien/Gregory". As far as I'm aware, shared drives weren't illegal in 1961, they just weren't eligible to score points. DH85868993 (talk) 08:33, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
