Note

[edit]

CCR broke up in 1972. It was Cream who broke up in 1969. The admins won't let me make this change. 76.126.21.16 (talk) 03:13, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Misses a whole lot of stuff

[edit]

This misses some artists I'd assume to be obvious, and that can't be a good thing. Just out of the top of my head I miss, Elvis Presley (mentioned only in passing as having some decline due to the 'british invasion'), or the Velvet Underground. Also given there is a section about Portugal (and others), I'd expect something in there other than Spain and Latin America; again without much thought: Amália Rodrigues in the least, and also António Calvário, Simone de Oliveira, maybe the Sheiks (band) (a rock'n'roll band within a 'closed/traditionalist regime' Portugal! - pt:Sheiks). And, off course, where is Africa and Asia? Hmmm... Damn... where is Europe, except for UK, Portugal and Spain? :-) Certainly this needs a good look at... (sure, I may do it, but maybe there is someone more knowledgeable out there willing to) Thanks! - Nabla (talk) 20:16, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mis-titled, or just incomplete?

[edit]

I followed the link from Timeline of musical events, expecting to find a list of important musical events in the 1960s. This is in fact what the title proclaims it to be, but then there is a header that says only popular-music events are listed here. Since I do not find corresponding lists for other categories of music (classical, folk, religious, etc.), am I to assume the header is in error and this list requires considerable expansion, or should it be retitled and new, parallel lists created for other categories?—Jerome Kohl (talk) 18:23, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Velvet Underground - Really?

[edit]

Nothing about the Velvet Underground in the Garage section or even about the Stooges and proto-punk etc.
