Grid Layout

[edit]

Sheldon & Rabagliati's "Black Book" and Mike Lang's Grand Prix! Volume 1 disagree over the order and layout of the grid: Sheldon & Rabagliati (which I have followed) list the grid order as: Fangio, Farina, Fagioli, Etancelin, Giraud-Cabantous, Rosier, Rol, Gonzalez, Levegh, Chaboud (did not start), Bonetto, Parnell, Manzon, Chiron, Claes, Pozzi, Sommer, Hampshire, Whitehead. Mike Lang lists (differences in bold): Fangio, Farina, Fagioli, Etancelin, Giraud-Cabantous, Sommer, Rol, Gonzanez, Levegh, Parnell, Hampshire, Manzon, Chiron, Pozzi, Rosier, Claes, Bonetto, Whitehead. Also, Lang shows Levegh and Whitehead's cars in the middle of rows 4 and 8 respectively, whereas Sheldon & Rabagliati show the Levegh's car on the right-hand side of row 4, with an empty space on the left for Chaboud (who did not start), and Whitehead on the right-hand side of row 8.
