Added dubious tag - December 2015
[edit]I have added a 'dubious' tag to the alleged winner of the Clubmans Lightweight 250 race. This appears to have been sourced from IoM TT.com, not only a Primary Source, but is also known to contain errors. This website has unknown contributors, and, I suspect, may even be partially-staffed by volunteers.
Motor Cycle categorically states, in response to a reader's question, that Bill McVeigh was declared winner, then disqualified for having a slightly-oversize engine. On appeal to the RAC, he was re-instated after a delay of two months.[1] The reader's question asserted a disqualification - prompted by the 1966 fuel-disqualification of Fritz Scheidegger - which was confirmed by an industry-standard periodical.
The IoM TT Database has Bill McVeigh as a DNF.[2]

- An editor has kindly provided an archive link from a previously 'dead' external site which shows W. McVeigh as winner [1] --Rocknrollmancer (talk) 19:51, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, as of 2023, the new official TT database lists Bill McVeigh as the winner.[2] I believe this settles it. I will update the page accordingly. SunflowerYuri (talk) 13:18, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
