"Upon occupation by Nazi Germany,

[edit]

the Dutch had to hand over the Dutch East Indies, its colony, to imperial Japan, only few months after the first German attack."

That statement is factually incorrect. Although the Netherlands were occupied by Germany in May 1940, the Netherlands East Indies/Indonesia remained under the control of Dutch colonial forces loyal to the Dutch government-in-exile until Japanese forces invaded the NEI and defeated the Dutch forces there in 1942. This was almost two years after German forces occupied the Netherlands and not "upon occupation by Nazi Germany." 66.162.249.170 (talk) 23:34, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
