Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.
If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)
I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.
Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs)
Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

[edit]Lede
[edit]- It was the thirteenth edition of the World Snooker Championship. Joe Davis won his thirteenth consecutive championship title - do we need to say thirteenth twice? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:08, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Amended. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 23:30, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Joe Davis won his thirteenth consecutive championship title by defeating Sidney Smith by 43 frames to 30 in the final, after achieving a winning margin at 37–25 - the winning margin might need some explaining. Maybe "in the best of 73 frames final, Davis won the match 43 frames to 30, securing the victory at 37-25 earlier in the match." - Fred Davis set a new championship record with a top break - new championship highest break. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:08, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

- Why was Falkiner allowed a bye to the main competition, but not Donaldson? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:08, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- I haven't found any info in sources about this. I'm guessing that Falkiner was a bigger box office draw than Donaldson. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 23:30, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- If we are going to comment on how the qualifier got on, the lede should also mention how he lost. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:08, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

- Championship trophy by Compton Mackenzie - Who? 14:19, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Added "author". according to this, Mackenzie had been invited in January 1939 to present the trophy, and the presentation was before his article in The Billiard Player about the origins of snooker. Not sure if some of this should be added - had the article been published beore the presentation it would certainly make sense to include that info. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 10:43, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- Championship trophy by Compton Mackenzie - lowercase for championship, although I'd assume you meant trophy? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:19, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Amended. BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 10:43, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- Could Schedule be part of the format section? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:19, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
