Not just East Prussia

[edit]

This renaming happened all over Germany, I think the article should cover the other regions too. Karasek (talk) 08:02, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Polish wikipedia article mentions that East Prussian expelle organisations are advising using Nazi terminology from 1938.Is this true?

[edit]

Polish wikipedia article on the germanisation of names in Prussia in 1938 writes that German expelle organisations from East Prussia continue to use Nazi terminology established in 1938. I am hesitant to add this without a source, but since I do understand that Sudeten Germans organisations viewed annexation of Czech lands as valid after even after Nazi Germany was defeated, and some leading members of expellees were former Nazis(Hans Kruger, Oberlander) this doesn't seem outside the realm of plausibility. So my question is-do East Prussian expellee organisations use Nazi terminology from 1938 and advise using it? --MyMoloboaccount (talk) 15:49, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

rename the article's name?

[edit]

“renaming of names” – one thinks of Haddocks' Eyes. How about 1938 renaming of East Prussian places (a closer match to the German phrase given)? —Tamfang (talk) 22:58, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tamfang: I'm not sure the original German phrase was an official name, and "places" might be too vague of a term. How about 1938 changing of place names in East Prussia? –Turaids (talk) 11:07, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Works for me. —Tamfang (talk) 00:33, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Examples

[edit]

I think this article would be improved if a couple of examples were added. My German is pretty basic, so someone else is probably better equipped to do so. Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 21:53, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the suggestion, Presidentman! I finally managed to find somewhat of a list and incorporated it into the article! –Turaids (talk) 18:08, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
