left congress in november 25 kanchipuram session [1], launched self respect movement in decemeber 25 [2], [3],[4]. The reason for confusion is this, he didnt' formally resigned congress membership till 1927 [5]. congress and swarajists

the relationship between Swarajists and Congress seem to be kind of weird. They leave Congress so they can contest in elections only to not form government after this election listening to Congress's advice... --CarTick

the end goal for both was the same - wrecking constitutional machinery. they both view dyarchy as unjust. but differ on how to tackle it. swarajists want to work from within to disrupt the administration, while congress wants nothing to do with the administration. Eventually congress came around to the fact, dyarchy existed and if they didnt have some sort of presence in the legislature, power will just by pass them.
