Census of Ireland, 1911 → Census of Ireland 1911 – Please move to rename article without comma in title to maintain consistent naming policy for Irish census articles. Compare Census of Ireland 2011. — O'Dea (talk) 21:44, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. The title needs a separator between Ireland and the year. In my opinion, it should either be 1911 census of Ireland or remain at the current title. Jenks24 (talk) 15:01, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- Comment. There are many articles in Wikipedia with unpunctuated titles. The following dozen illustrate the point:
- APEC United States 2011
- Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards 2011
- FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2011
- Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011
- Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011
- Miss Teen USA 2011
- Postal Services Act 2011
- Red Nose Day 2011
- Scotland Bill 2011
- United Kingdom Census 2011
- Victorian Premier League 2011
- World Youth Day 2011
There is no rule requiring punctuation in titles. — O'Dea (talk) 07:47, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- Comment For the sake of consistency the article should be changed, however, I personally feel that actually a comma should be used as is the case for elections across Wikipedia. However if this were to be done obviously it would recquire a new discussion. Shatter Resistance (talk) 15:10, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose - Per my earlier commment I have opened up a new discussion on a general standardisation of census articles (which currently are very varied) my proposal includes the comma so the proposed move to this page would deviate from that and so I don't feel this proposal should go ahead. Shatter Resistance (talk) 16:29, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- (That's at Talk:2001 Bangladesh census, in case anyone was wondering.)--Kotniski (talk) 12:43, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
