- Link "major hurricane"
- Fixed--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- "Straights of Florida" - as an LGBT Wikipedian, I'm utterly offended by this. It's Straits of Florida :P Ditto in the MH
- Changed it to the "Gays of Florida" :P --12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- " Further north" - farther
- Fixed--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- "In Miami, several buildings were deroofed, while the new hotel suffered severe damage" - what new hotel?
- March Villa. Sadly, not March 17. Just March :( --12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- "the second highest number in a season at the time – tied with 1886 and 1894 – behind only 1893" - this seems like something more appropriate for the season article, and not a standalone article, especially since you rely on HURDAT for the sourcing
- Actually, I cited an ACE table. But I get what you're saying about it being more appropriate for a season article, so I'll remove it anyway--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- "Shortly after 00:00 UTC on October 11, the hurricane made landfall in the Sandino municipality of Pinar del Río Province at the same intensity." - make sure you indicate that this is Cuba
- Fixed--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- Does MWR have anything? The MH is short on met details, but that's to be expected in 1909
- The MWR had some more, albeit not much more--12george1 (talk) 20:15, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- "The cities of Cayuco and La Fe in Pinar del Río Province were completely destroyed, while Guane experienced considerable devastation and every house in Puerto Esperanza suffered damage due to strong winds." - split these sentences
- Done--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- "suffered extensively flooding" - drop -ly
- Fixed--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- "In Havana, the hurricane produced winds as high as 130 mph (210 km/h)." - gusts?
- "wind up to 84 mph (135 km/h) were observed." - again, gusts? Also, singular "wind"?
- That's sustained--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- The streets became a "mess of wreckage" - according to?
- It was actually "mass of wreckage", so thanks for pointing this out. I guess that's according to the newspaper reporters. So I'm not sure that's really worth mentioning according to whom. Generally we don't say things like, "According to the New York Times, the streets were littered with debris", right?--12george1 (talk) 17:42, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- Impacts in Bahamas?
- All I could find was a sustained wind speed in Nassau--12george1 (talk) 20:15, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
All in all a good little article. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:43, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
- I think I've done everything now. Thanks for the review!--12george1 (talk) 20:15, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
