Is it worth discussing the substitutes and local replacements?
[edit]In New York City, the 1890 census was distrusted, and the Police ordered to complete a second census. Because of this mistrust, New York reinstituted the State census, which began in 1892. Is this worth mentioning? ThuranX 14:54, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

- The public reaction to this tabulation was disbelief, as it was widely believed that the "right answer" was at least 75,000,000.[citation needed]
