Drumpellier v Motherwell
[edit]Is there a source for the match being replayed after a protest? I cannot find one - there are reports for the original match, a mention in the following week of a protest in the Third Lanark/Cowlairs tie, and the following Saturday the SECOND elevens of Drumpellier and Motherwell meet in the Second XI Cup. Could the latter have been confused at some point with a second go at the first round tie?
Hoping for Motherwell historians to chime in... In Vitrio (talk) 08:10, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
- The source for it is the London Hearts website linked below that round of matches. However, it would appear that they have gotten confused with the second XI match you reference as Stewart Mathers' book, The Beautiful Dribbling Game, gives no reference to a successful protest or a replay.
