The player stats seem like they must be incomplete. For example, in addition to his all time record setting performance as a starter, Charles Radbourn pitched at least one game in relief. He relieved Cyclone Miller, pitching four innings in relief and earning (at least by modern scoring rules) a save. There is no mention, however, of his relief performance under "Relief pitchers". Also, although I'm sure complete games were much more common in 1884 than today, it seems implausible based on the "innings pitched" numbers of the starters other than Radbourn that relief pitchers made appearances in only two (or three) games. The total number of games played by the Grays (according to the standings) was 112 but the total number of games played by the starting pitchers (according to their stats) was 120--something literally doesn't quite add up there. Plus there is no mention of batting statistics for any of the pitchers--presumably Radbourn in particular batted almost as much as the position players given his number of games played and the fact that this was long, long before the designated hitter.
