B Battery talk
[edit]"In 2005 Bravo Battery of the 5th Battalion 3rd Field Artillery deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation: Iraqi Freedom. Before this deployment the Battalion was converged into one battery and were cross trained as HET (Heavy Equipment Transporter) operators. While on deployment the unit completed several successful missions in and out of Iraq and transported numerous types and amounts of equipment for units leaving and coming into the country. The deployment led to no loss of life to the unit and only a small number of injuries....
"The 5th Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment [part of 17th Fires Brigade] deployed in late 2009 as a "Route Clearance Patrol" supporting various Engineer Battalions in Eastern and Southern Afghanistan, they to redeployed back to Fort Lewis late 2010."
