Article Contradiction/Confusion
[edit]I've labelled this article as being self-contradictory because it is entitled 'Anson class,' and then immediately states that Anson was not a class. HMS Indefatigable was of the Ardent class, however having articles for classes of ships of this time period is questionable, as they generally were not referred to as being of a certain class until much later. I've also brought this up at WikiProject Ships. Martocticvs 18:09, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
As the launch dates quoted were those when the three ships were originally constructed, and this was not done where the ships were built, it is somewhat misleading to place the launch dates AFTER the conversion dockyard. I have thus re-ordered the data to show the original builder before the launch date, and then place the conversion dockyard before the conversion dates. Rif Winfield 00:03, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Rename discussion
[edit]We're discussing renaming this article over at WikiProject Ships. Anyone with an interest in the topic is welcome to join. TomTheHand 18:20, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Both Anson and Magnanime were converted from Intrepid Class 64s, while as stated above Indefatigable was converted from an Ardent Class 64. I think it would be more appropriate to label the three razeed vessels as constituting a 'group' rather than a 'class' in the modern sense. Rif Winfield 00:03, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
