Opening statement
[edit]Hello, and come what may from this review, thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. During the review, I may make copyedits, which I will limit to spelling correction and minor changes to punctuation (removal of double spaces and such). I will only make substantive edits that change the flow and structure of the prose if I previously suggested and it is necessary. The Nominator(s) should understand that I am a grammar pedant, and I will nitpick in the interest of prose quality. For responding to my comments, please use Done, Fixed, Added, Not done, Doing..., or Removed, followed by any comment you'd like to make. I will be crossing out my comments as they are redressed, and only mine. A detailed, section-by-section review will follow. –♠Vami_IV†♠ 09:42, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
Prose
[edit]The building is on a trapezoidal city block that Erwin S. Wolfson had finished acquiring in 1961.
The shape of the plot was already given in the first paragraph of the lead. And who is Erwin S. Wolfson?- Done I have fixed this and clarified who Wolfson is. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
The acronym "LEED" is only used once.- Removed The popular name for this organization is LEED, and when some building is "LEED-certified", it is environmentally friendly. But i can see why in this case it is unnecessary. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
The facade is otherwise smooth, with glass panels that are flush with the rest of the facade, although the aluminum window trim provides some texture to the facade. The western facade has three vertical bays of six windows each, while the eastern facade has four bays of six windows.
Too many "facade"s.A public plaza is located in this intermediate space.[15] The plaza is made of tiled white travertine.[9]
Combine.- Done
The publicly-maintained sidewalks on all sides of 140 Broadway are 20 feet (6.1 m) wide and are maintained by the New York City Department of Education [...]
Redundancy present.- Fixed Dunno why this said it is maintained by the NYCDOE (as opposed to NYCDOT). The NYCDOE runs schools. Oops. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
[...] bounded by Broadway and Cedar, Liberty, and Nassau streets.
Shouldn't the "and" between "Broadway" and "Cedar" be a comma?- Maybe. I moved Broadway to the back. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
The six plots on the block had been owned by different entities, [...]
In what span of time?- Done It was immediately prior to Wolfson's purchase. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
The Diesel Construction Company, asked developer Harry Helmsley [...]
Delete this comma.- Done
In October 1965, Helmsley's corporation gave Marine Midland Bank naming rights as part of the bank's initial lease of the two basement and first 20 floors.
This is the first mention of MMB in "History". When did they become involved with the project and building?- Fixed It was at this transaction, where MMB took the lease, that they were given naming rights. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
Puerto Rico's government
Wait, what? I have to know more.- Probably a mainland office of that commonwealth. Unfortunately I can't find any other info on this, but it may be the reason why Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional Puertorriqueña bombed the building back in 1974. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
The FALNP bombed 140 Broadway in 1974? That should absolutely be in the article if that's the case.–♠Vami_IV†♠ 16:17, 25 May 2020 (UTC)- Done Hmm, I thought I added this. epicgenius (talk) 18:52, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

When an elevator with five people inside [...]
Were these people firefighters or civilians?- Civilians. epicgenius (talk) 15:26, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
