COD or cod?

Considering IUPAC's provisional recommendations for ligand abbreviations, 1,5-Cyclooctadiene should be abbreviated cod rather than COD, see [1] GosseWeening (talk) 15:38, 13 April 2009 (UTC) |

- Like a dictionary, Wikipedia should generally follow common (but preferably non-jargon) word usage, rather than the nomenclature defined by any standards body like the IUPAC, prestigious as it may be. So, what is common usage in his case?--Jorge Stolfi (talk) 18:22, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
Maybe split articles?
