Usage of 中山王国
[edit]- Is this usage of 中山王国 correct? It means "middle mountain three land(s)", and thus seems to mean all three of those kingdoms, rather than only one of them. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 10:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, wikt:王国 means "kingdom", and so "中山王国" means "Chūzan Kingdom". The Japanese article is at ja:中山王国 ("Chūzan Kingdom") rather than "中山" (Chūzan), so that's where it came from. And I believe the "王国" bit helps disambiguate it from the others.--Endroit (talk) 10:55, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Uhh. Sorry. I confused 三 (three) with 王 (king). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 13:15, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I've been confused myself too, like between 国 (commonly used) and 囯 (rarely used). (The 1st one has a dot in the lower right.) The English wiktionary really helps.--Endroit (talk) 18:29, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
