Merge This should probably be merged with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid_maltase because it's the same enzme EC number. Iamdooser (talk) 00:13, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The hydrolysis reaction yields 4 glucose molecules from maltotriose. How is this possible? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:D0:9724:9D00:E91A:2505:2E6B:60E3 (talk) 18:03, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Maltase into Α-Glucosidase

[edit]

This article is a Frankensteinian monster of bad ontology; the good news is it's not even alive, so it won't resent you for creating it. Most of the content belongs in α-Glucosidase, except the parts that try to lump in amylases and isomaltase, that's messy. Artoria2e5 🌉 09:17, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose the merge, but agree with the sentiment. I suggest that we prune Maltase hard, pointing out that it is an informal catch-all term for a range of different enzymes that metabolize maltose. I've given this hard prune a go. Klbrain (talk) 07:02, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Closed, given the uncontested objection and no support with stale discussion. Klbrain (talk) 20:17, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
