David Rozehnal - from Šternberk?
[edit]I doubt he is from Šternberk. Of course, he was born in there, but that does not make him "a noteable person from Šternberk". People actually can be born in a place where they don't live and where they don't have their roots, which is the case of him (in my opinion). Does anybody have a proof, that he ever lived in Šternberk? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.151.83.161 (talk) 16:48, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Need a Volunteer to add an External link to the Šternberk page
[edit]I am looking for "volunteer" to Add an External link (below) to a Šternberk town page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0ternberk
https://www.geni.com/projects/%C5%A0ternberk-Sternberg-Olomouc-Moravia-Czech-republic/4476810
The Page created by Peter Rohel is of former Šternberk businesses, families and people born, married, residing, dying, buried in the town "mainly" before 1945. Page is extremely unique (nothing like it elsewhere), benefitting anyone interested in history of the families, including descendants searching for Šternberk family roots. - @Rohelp, I'm sorry to have to tell you that according to WP:RSP guidelines, the geni.com website is
considered generally unreliable because it is an open wiki, which is a type of self-published source.
Meaning it is not a reliable source for the encyclopedia. See WP:RS, as it is user-submitted content that is not vetted editorially, or fact-checked journalism. See WP:GUNREL for the definition of a "generally unreliable source". For more information about reliable sourcing per WP standards, see WP:RS. Netherzone (talk) 17:19, 7 September 2022 (UTC)- @Netherzone It is an External LINK only - not Additions to the main page. Only someone interested in the town of Šternberk would – click on the Link for more information. Declining "adding the Link" based on WP:RSP guidelines - means learning less about the town’s history & people - from the Wikipedia page. If that is the case, and the Link can Not be added - that is unfortunate and a loss for Wikipedia, source I always enjoyed. Rohelp (talk) 17:39, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Netherzone, Further thought, as I a creator and “volunteer Geni curator” - I am the only person maintaining the page – Not other Geni users.
- If another curator or a User wanted to contribute – I would have to Accept their request!
- As an “External link” Geni page, I and Geni are responsible for its content as per TOS – as is the case for any other External Link on Wikipedia, that may be update by their sites webmaster.
- I would like a Review of the Refusal – if possible. Thank you. Rohelp (talk) 19:39, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by "Review of the Refusal", I am simply stating what the Wikipedia guidelines and policies of the encyclopedia are re: Geni.com. I do not wish to make this edit for you because I do not want to be associated with adding what is considered an unreliable source not up to encyclopedic standards.
- If the geni.com content is your own writing, then please read WP:SELFCITE, WP:SELFPUB, and WP:OR for guidance. Netherzone (talk) 01:07, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
