- Şahkulu is not a proper noun and I don't rigorously insist using the word şah. But the rule in WP:Titles is; If there are too few English-language sources to constitute an established usage, follow the conventions of the language appropriate to the subject. Since there are no more than 5 sources in search engine, we can't refer to an established usage in English. So I think Şahkulu is more concenient in this case. Şahkulu Rebellion → Shah Kulu rebellion – per WP:COMMONNAME & WP:USEENGLISH
As long as I understand, there are "common" names in English. But it's very clear that
are better than original research. Thank you. Takabeg (talk) 08:02, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- I see nothing wrong with the current Turkish spelling Şahkulu being used. A 2-word spelling "Shah Kulu" looks like "a shah named Kulu", which he was not. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:50, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- If here were Turkish Wikipedia, we could (maybe must) chose Şahkulu İsyanı.
in modern Turkish:
- "Şahkulu" -Llc (1300 results)
- "Şah Kulu" -Llc (746 results)
But in English:
- "Şah Kulu" -Llc 156 results
- "Şahkulu" -Llc 144 results (but most of results were books written in Turkish language or written by Turkish authors)
- "Shah kulu" -Llc 76 results
- "Shahkulu" -Llc 85 results

- Oppose:Please refer to WP:Tiles ; If there are too few English-language sources to constitute an established usage, follow the conventions of the language appropriate to the subject. Now there are too few sources in English to constritute an established usage in of this name. So the conventions of the language appropriate to the subject (Şahkulu) should be used. (By the way, in yahoo search engine 128000 Hans Christian Oerted vs 72000 Hans Christian Ørsted. But Wikipedia uses Hans Christian Ørsted the name appropriate to Danish instead of English). - We don't use yahoo search engine. We use google books according to Wikipedia:Article titles#Common names. Takabeg (talk) 08:14, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
