Population

The article says the population is around 23,000--but the number is from 1947. Is there not anything more recent? 75.148.48.25 (talk) 20:25, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at Japanese Wikipedia's version... They say, after translation, "As of the 21st census in 2020, the population was 4,963 [2]". Unfortunately the reference is a pdf which is hard to auto translate so I am not comfortable updating our article. Commander Keane (talk) 21:05, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Commander KeaneChecked the figures myself on the raw pdf (my Japanese is good enough that I don’t need auto translate for that sort of thing), and they match the Japanese page numbers. Went ahead and changed them plus added a population section where the link was nice and handy if anyone else wants to check it. Figures are the combined numbers for Ōmishimachō and Kamakurachō the two historical divisions of the island for census purposes. Absurdum4242 (talk) 19:43, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
