Émile GeorgetEmile Georget — Most RS (L'Equipe, cyclingarchives, memoire du cyclisme, letour.fr) say his first name is "Emile", without accent. --EdgeNavidad (talk) 13:24, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment It may not be as simple as it first appears. It is custom, when writing in French, to leave out the accent on capital letters, although neither form is "correct". It may not be possible to determine the real spelling. What do we do with other similar names? Skinsmoke (talk) 01:43, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The name is definitely Émile, with the accent, although as Skinsmoke says the accent is sometimes omitted from capital letters in French text. The French Wikipedia (where using accents on capital letters is obligatory per their guidelines) uses Émile. No reason to move. Jafeluv (talk) 12:17, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Thanks for that clarification Jafeluv. Now see no reason to move. Skinsmoke (talk) 14:32, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
