Killing spectator at the 1954 Buenos Aires Grand Prix
[edit]The citation for this claim was the same as for the whole paragraph, in this case page 154 of Peter Higham's Formula 1 Car By Car 1950-59. The direct quote is "...but he crashed into the crowd on the opening lap of the Formule Libre Buenos Aires GP after losing a wheel, with the consequence that a spectator was killed and a policeman seriously injured." It's true that this is not mentioned on 1954 Buenos Aires Grand Prix but that article has very little in the way of a race report. I do note that Hernan Lopez Laiseca's The Argentine Temporada Motor Races does not mention the Bayol incident, but nor does it mention the death of Enrico Platé, and there is just three short paragraphs about this race in that book.
