Hi @Rosiestep, Missvain, and WomenArtistUpdates: pinging you three as the main contributors to this article. It seems that the article is misgendered. I have been doing some Wikidata clean up, and noticed a batch of a dozen articles that had Wikidata gender male in the Wikiproject Women Artists. I looked closer, and most were in face men, and of those, I couldn't quite tell why they were there, though they sometimes had gender ambiguous names. A handful were women, and I changed the Wikidata properties accordingly. This one is written with she/her pronouns here on Wikipedia, but is male on Wikidata, with a citation to a national identifier database. The es wiki original uses male pronouns. The research I found, indicated that the subject was in fact a man [1][2]. Angel is a masculine name in spanish, and as I know you know, in French and Spanish is common for men to have a compound name that includes a name that would be feminine if it didn't follow a masculine first name. I wanted to post here to make ensure consensus before shifting the article, and removing from WPWA. --Theredproject (talk) 14:34, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, here are the Wikidata items in WPWA that are men. A few make sense (like Yasumasa_Morimura) but I'm unsure about the others.
Q595342 Yasumasa_Morimura
Q1377165 Vadym_Meller
Q6080932 Isidore_Jacques_Eggermont

Q1872974 Luca_Novelli

This probably should go on WPWA talk, but just putting it here for now, as part of this convo. If you think it should go on WPWA talk, let me know.--Theredproject (talk) 14:37, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Theredproject, I reviewed all of these. Then I removed 'women' talkpage templates from: Morimura, Meller, Eggermont, Aghamyan, Made, Kat, Burden, Cortellini, Novelli, Ihle, Grandmaison, Deira. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:56, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
