Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • Marco Musical Estudio is not sourced despite being listed in the infobox, plus Mexico City is a city not a studio
  • Pop genre is unsourced; being nominated for an award and reaching a chart of the genre do not source it
  • "is a song from Puerto Rican singer Olga Tañón's fourth studio album" → "is a song by Puerto Rican singer Olga Tañón from her fourth studio album,"
  • Remove introduction to Marco Antonio Solís since you have done that in the body and he's not a main subject
  • Wikilink lead single instead
  • "It is a ballad about" → "A ballad, the song is about"
  • "and marks a musical departure" → "and marked a musical departure"
  • The music video sentence should be the last one of the para instead
  • "The track was nominated for" → "The song was nominated for"
  • "was later covered by Mexican norteño band Conjunto Primavera and by" → "was later covered by both Conjunto Primavera and" removing the singer introduction as well as the band one, as neither is notable for the lead when they've been used in the body
  • "for her 12th and final studio albums" → "for her 12th and final studio albums," plus add the release year in brackets and a comma afterwards
  • "Rivera recorded a music video" → "She recorded a music video"
  • "on the Billboard Mexican Airplay while" → "on the Billboard Mexican Airplay chart, while"
  • "in 2008 and 2012 for both cover versions." → "in both 2008 and 2012 for the respective cover versions." or something similar

Background and composition

[edit]
  • "for Olga Tañón's studio album Nuevos Senderos Solís would" → "for Nuevos Senderos; Solís would" on the img text
  • "Olga Tañón launched her" → "Tañón had launched her"
  • "reaching at the top five on" → "reaching the top five on"
  • The word "and" is not needed before the last album when the list begins with a colon
  • "one of its tracks." → "one of the tracks."
  • "as she originally performed" → "because of her originally performing"
  • Mention the Marco Musical Estudio here too, as it is backed up by the AllMusic source
  • "One of the songs wrote Solís composed for" → "One of the songs Solís wrote and composed for"

Promotion and reception

[edit]
  • "was as the lead single" → "was released as the lead single" with the wikilink
  • "for the song which" → "for the song, which"
  • "the single "summarizes" her" → "the song "summarizes" Tañón's"
  • "In the United States," → "In the US," per MOS:US

Charts

[edit]
  • Good, but should be swapped with cover versions

Cover versions

[edit]
  • Wikilink polka instead
  • "the Regional Mexican Airplay chart." → "the Regional Mexican Airplay chart in the US."
  • "performed the song in 2008 in Chihuahua, Mexico which" → "delivered a performance of the song during 2008 in Chihuahua, Mexico, which"
  • "recorded for their" → "released on their"
  • Pipe banda to Banda music
  • "for each album respectively." → "for each album, respectively."
  • Why is Mexico City introduced as being in Mexico here and not on the first mention in the body instead?
  • "of Joyas Prestadas which" → "of Joyas Prestadas, which"
  • "Monterrey, Mexico hours before" → "Monterrey, Mexico, hours before"
  • "was later recorded for her album" → "was later released as her album"
  • "for both cover versions." → "for the respective cover versions."

References

[edit]
  • Copyvio score looks incredible at 6.5%!!!!
  • Wikilink AllMusic on ref 1
  • Pipe Billboard to Billboard (magazine) and Nielsen Business Media to Nielsen Holdings on ref 3
  • Remove AllMusic from the titles of refs 6, 12, 16, 21, 22 and 27
  • Cite Univision as publisher instead for refs 11 and 26, removing the other one plus fix WP:OVERLINK for ref 26

  • Wikilink Diario Libre on ref 24
  • Wikilink Monitor Latino on ref 28 and cite as the sole publisher instead

Final comments and verdict

[edit]
@Kyle Peake: Pretty easy stuff, got most of it done. Only thing I didn't change was the charts table. I don't feel comfortable removing the charts for the original version. Is there maybe a way we could put charts for both the original and the cover versions somewhere in the article? Erick (talk) 01:00, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Magiciandude You could use different chart captions for tables, like on "Selah". Also, charts should be after cover versions since all the sections with prose are supposed to come first. --K. Peake 06:04, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kyle Peake How does it look? I forgot to mention that I changed the genre on the infobox to "Latin pop" per Allmusic's review of the album. Erick (talk) 13:11, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Magiciandude The charts table looks fine, but remove or replace the genre since AllMusic sidebar is not reliable for this info. --K. Peake 17:31, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kyle Peake, Oh, I'm actually referring to the actual review of the album, not the sidebar (which I never use), specifically this part: "this 1996 release is primarily a collection of romantic Latin pop." Erick (talk) 17:42, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Magiciandude This is acceptable sourcing since it says the album is primarily this genre, but write out in prose that musically the song is a Latin pop song or something like that... --K. Peake 17:46, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Closest I could find was Billboard's John Lannert calling the album a "Mexican-flavored pop record" which I've added to the article, but I've removed the genre from the infobox for now. Erick (talk) 18:29, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Magiciandude  Pass now, but I removed the record sentence since it lacks focus on the song plus a genre is not a necessity. --K. Peake 20:46, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
