Merge
[edit]I suggest "Weird Al" Yankovic#Selected discography be merged into "Weird Al" Yankovic discography. There is no need to repeat the same information in both articles. This leads to the situation where one article is updated and the other isn't. The discography article is more complete as it lists the compilations and special projects already so I suggest we use that as the main article and use the {{main}} template on the "Weird Al" Yankovic page to direct people there. The other reason we might want to split it out is that the "Weird Al" Yankovic article is 55 kb, which may be too large according to Wikipedia:Article size. --Elvis 20:48, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- I went ahead and did the merge based on at least five days of silence per WP:MERGE. I think this is in the best interest for both articles. --Elvis 21:17, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Yoda?
[edit]Why is "Yoda" not mentioned anywhere? It was one of his biggest hits on Dr. Demento, finishing #1 in the annual Funny 25 in 1981 and #2 each of the next two years (http://drdemento.com/playlists/funny25/funny25.81.html). The song was undoubtedly one of the biggest contributors to his early-years fame. 76.169.152.2 (talk) 04:20, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Constipated?
[edit]Didn't Weird Al also do the song "Constipated", a parody of Avril Lavigne's "Complicated"?
- No, the parody of "Complicated" is officially called "A Complicated Song" from the Poodle Hat album. However, that song does involve constipation as one of the things talked about. --Michael Greiner 04:09, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ah. One of those songs that have a title other than what people think the title is, like calling "Unchained Melody" "I Hunger for your Touch" Kevin 22:19, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

B-sider
[edit]I'm confused. If he recorded 42 B-sides, yet 11 are listed as "unreleased", then what is up with the 11 seen on this page? Coincidence that they share the same number, or what? Tubularbells1993 (talk) 00:36, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I have a better idea. Merge the B-side list to his complete list of songs article? We can indicate that they were B-sides. Tubularbells1993 (talk) 00:38, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Upcoming Album?
[edit]Is there any REAL confirmation that Weird Al is going to release a new album next year? 121.219.40.20 (talk) 05:16, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
The album is apparently fairly advanced in its production at the current time, currently having a speculative release date of October 27, 2009. The working title (mentioned by Al at a recent meet and greet) is "The Antimeric Al", cleverly referencing Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim's involvement on at least one song. They are apparently going to appear on a TV-based song called "Great Job," which centers entirely around Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job!. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.144.3.93 (talk) 19:10, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Canadian Idiot
[edit]Lol so Straight Outta Lynwood, the album with "Canadian Idiot" on it, did not chart in Canada and neither did the single? Funny...but seriously, something has got to be wrong here. --██████ 21:54, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
Mix Tape Found By My Wife
[edit]My wife (who was recently recognized by the AL foundation as Mr. Yankovic's #1 US Fan) has uncovered some recordings of Al. We were cleaning out an attic in Liverpool, and found a reel-to-reel tape label "Yakovic/0021-CBS Property Of CBS records" It contains a parody of Duran Duran's Rio called "Gyro" two Polka melodies (Polkamatic and Polka-vision) a parody of the Cars "Since You've Gone" called "Drop the bomb" an original new wave song called "Neon Laces"....should we included this as "CBS DEMOS" or something like that in the discography, and note that it is an unreleased album? I can upcode the interweb picture of the reel-to-rell box if neededNesmith74 (talk) 23:46, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
- Discographies are for released albums. Trivialist (talk) 01:00, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Sortable tables?
[edit]I find it overly complicated to locate individual items in some tables, especially in the Singles table. I've modified tables as sortable and saved them as drafts offline; these mods include specific column and row exclusions. Before I publish these, however, I'd like to know what people think about making at least the larger tables sortable.

Babalu Music
[edit]Where should we put Weird Al's 1991 album "Babalu Music?" It's a bit of an odd one, as it is a digital remastering of songs from I Love Lucy. It also includes the title track which is a dance remix medley of songs from the show. It was produced by Al, but doesn't seem to fit in studio albums. Thoughts? Here is a link to it on Al's website. https://www.weirdal.com/catalog/babalu-music/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:6011:2D21:4200:80B5:44FB:8333:4198 (talk) 14:37, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
