Tahanan (lit.'Home') is a 2018 Philippine stop-motion animated short film animated, written and directed by Demetrio E. Celestino III.

It is the first stop-motion animated film produced in the Philippines and to be screened under the Student Short Film Competition at the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).[1]

Premise

The film centers on issue of family separation told through the lens of a young green sea turtle.[1]

Development

A graphic artist and cartoonist at CSU's student publication Statesman, Celestino started venturing on film making just this year using stop motion animation as his medium.[1]

Awards

Tahanan was nominated as one of the eight finalists under Student Short Film Competition in the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival, although it lost to Kasilyas (lit.'Restroom').[2]
