A Tactical Action Officer (TAO), is a position on a warship in the U.S. Navy that Unrestricted Line (URL) Surface Warfare Officer's (SWO) can hold.[1]
In media (Fiction)
[edit]In the TV show The Last Ship (TV series), the TAO was Commander Kara Green, played by Marissa Neitling for the majority of the series.[2]
In the movie Greyhound (film), the XO Charlie Cole filled the role of TAO in the CiC.[3][4]
