It reverses direction at Samastipur Junction.[1]

[edit]Since September 2017 the 12561/12562 Swatantra Senani Superfast Express with new LHB coach has 1 AC 1st Class, 2 AC 2 tier, 6 AC 3 tier,1 AC 3E, 6 Sleeper class, 3 General Unreserved coaches & 1 Pantry car, 1Physical Handicapped coach,and 1 power generator cars.[1]

Service
[edit]Swatantra Senani SuperFast was initially introduced between New Delhi and Muzaffarpur. Later it got extended to Darbhanga and then in 2017 this train got extended to Jaynagar

[edit]As the route is fully electrified, it runs with Kanpur / Gomoh-based WAP-7 (HOG)-equipped locomotive from end to end.
From 13 September 2020 the operating speed of this train has been raised to 130 km/h between Varanasi junction (Banaras) and Ghaziabad.
