Sude Yaren Uzunçavdar (born 20 October 2005) is a Turkish taekwondo athlete.[1]
Career
[edit]Sude Yaren Uzunçavdar became the world champion at the 2022 World Junior Taekwondo Championship organized by the World Taekwondo Federation (WT) in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, by defeating Sugee Jung from South Korea in the final. She was also awarded the best female athlete of the championships.[2] She won the gold medal by defeating Lebanese Selman Ward in the women's 73 kg final at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held at Selçuk University 19 Mayıs Sports Hall in Konya.[3]
She won the gold medal in the women's 73 kg category at the 3rd European Games held at the Krynica-Zdrój Arena in Kraków, Poland, defeating her Hungarian rival Rebeka Furedi 2–0 in the last 16 round, French Althea Laurin 2–0 in the quarterfinals and Croatian Nika Klepac 2–0 in the semifinals. The national athlete also beat her Serbian rival Nadica Bozanic 2–0 in the final and won the gold medal.[4]
