Sonam is a given name. It is a Tibetan name meaning "merit" (Tibetan: བསོད་ནམས, Wylie: bsod nams, ZYPY: Soinam).[1] Separately, it is also a name in various Indo-Aryan languages (Devanagari script: सोनम).
