Sofronio Parojinog Vasquez III (born November 9, 1992), aka Sofronio Vasquez, is a Filipino pop and R&B singer currently residing in the United States.[1] He is the winner of season 26 of the American talent competition The Voice at the age of 32. He competed on the team by coached by Michael Bublé giving him his first win as a coach.

Early life

Sofronio Vasquez was born in Misamis Oriental province of Mindanao, Philippines, to Aida Parojinog and Oniol Vasquez.[2]

He credits his father with instilling in him a love of singing, and even calls his father his first Coach.[3] Originally, Vasquez studied to be a dentist and began practicing as a dental hygienist. [4] After the death of his father, Vasquez inspired him to keep pursuing his dream of singing.

2017: Tawag ng Tanghalan

In 2017, Vasquez joined the second season of Tawag ng Tanghalan, a segment of ABS-CBN's noontime variety show It's Showtime.[5]

In 2024, Vasquez auditioned for the 26th season of The Voice USA.[5] All four coaches (Michael Bublé, Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, and Snoop Dogg) expressed interest in working with him. Vasquez ultimately chose to be a part of Team Bublé. He progressed to the final where he was declared as the winner of the season on December 10, 2024.[6][7] Vasquez became the first male Asian winner in the show's twenty-six seasons, as well as the first Filipino to win.
