Simplex Chithyola Banda is a Malawian politician and educator who is the current Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs (Malawi)[1][2] in Malawi from February 2023.[3][4][5][6][7] He is a Member of Parliament for Kasungu South Constituency from Malawi Congress Party.[8][9]

Personal life

Banda was born in 1969 in Kasungu, Malawi. He attended Kasungu Secondary School. He has a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Administration.[3] He was appointed by President Lazarus Chakwera as the new Minister of Finance replacing Sosten Gwengwe.[10][11]
