Sheetal Angural is an Indian politician representing the Jalandhar West Assembly constituency in the Punjab Legislative Assembly and now he is a former MLA. He was a member of the Aam Aadmi Party.[1] He joined Bharatiya Janta Party in 27 March 2024, before the 2024 Indian General Election .[2]
Career
[edit]2022 Punjab assembly elections
[edit]Sheetal Angural won 2022 Punjab assembly elections from Jalandhar West constituency by defeating Sushil Rinku of Indian National Congress by 4253 votes.[3]
Joining BJP
[edit]Sheetal Angural joined the Bharatiya Janta Party on 27 March 2024.[4]
After joining BJP, he fought the Jallandhar by-election in 2024 and felt cheated by BJP, when he was defeated by Mohinder Bhagat his own ex-fellow from AAP, when the later won the by-election by 55k:17k votes. Sheetal is left nowwhere but in the middle of a deserted ocean after the election results.

Resignation Accepted
[edit]Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has accepted his resignation on May 30 and a notification was issued on May 31, 2024. Further, now this seat is filled by the by-election won by Mohinder Bhagat from Aam Aadmi Party of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Maan. [8]
