Sharon S. Garin is a Filipino government official who currently serves as the Undersecretary of the Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines. A CPA-Lawyer by profession, she oversees the Department's Financial Services Bureau, Legal Services Bureau, and Nuclear Energy Program Interagency Committee. She also serves as the Department Legislative Liaison Officer.[1]

As Undersecretary of Energy, Garin is responsible for overseeing the Financial Services Bureau, managing the Legal Services Bureau, supervising the Nuclear Energy Program Interagency Committee, and serving as the Department Legislative Liaison Officer. In her role, she addresses legal issues related to downstream and upstream conventional energy, renewable energy, electric power, nuclear power, and other areas within the energy sector. She has also been instrumental in improving the department's financial stability and operational effectiveness through enhanced budgeting and accounting operations.[1]

Under her leadership at the DOE, Garin has advocated for revising the omnibus guidelines for awarding renewable energy service contracts, aiming to streamline the process for project proponents. Her focus has been on allowing developers to concentrate on project construction without being impeded by administrative obstacles.[2]
