Shahzeb Tejani is a South Asian American singer, composer, and lyricist from Houston, Texas. He predominantly works in Hindi-Urdu and English language music. He made his singing debut in 2019 with his song Apna Bana Le Na featuring DJ Shadow Dubai, which was released in collaboration with Zee Music Company.
Early life and education
[edit]Shahzeb Tejani was born and raised in Houston, Texas USA, He developed a love for Bollywood and South Asian music during childhood, inspired by Mohammed Rafi, KK and Sonu Nigam.[1][2][3]
He completed his graduation in architecture from the Hines College of Architecture, University of Houston.[1]
Career
[edit]He began performing at local events during his time at university, eventually gaining recognition on platforms like YouTube and Instagram.[1][4]
In 2019, Zee Music Company launched his career, and Shahzeb debuted with the song Apna Bana Le Na, featuring DJ Shadow Dubai and Salman Mithani.[2][5]
In 2020, he released another song Tum Ho with Zee Music Company, he also created an English version of the song ‘You’re the one’ in the same year.[6][7]
In 2021, he released five songs including Ae Dil Mere, Maheroo, Ishq Saza, Kuch Na Raha and Barsaat.[8]
In 2022, he collaborated with Abhijeet Sawant, the first Indian idol winner, for the song Tera Rishta.[9][10] He also released a love track Tere Siva in 2022 in a collaboration with Soham Majumdar.[3]
He has also worked with music director Harish Sagane, known for his work in Vikram Bhatt's film 1921 (2018 film).[11]
In 2023, Shahzeb released his debut album, Bin Kahe which includes eight tracks, Bin Kahe, Maine Duniya Se Kaha, Dastaan E Wafa, Mohabbat Karta Hoon, Teri Yaad, and Dil Ko Mere, along with Dil Ko Mere-Unplugged and Bin Kahe-Reprise.[12][13]
Shahzeb collaborated with Yanchan Produced for the song Teri Yaad on the album, he also performed in Dallas, Texas, for the final stop of Yanchan’s USA tour in 2024.[1]
In 2024, he released his first English single, ‘Until You're Mine’, and two Hindi singles Mere Humsafar and Duaon Mein.[14][15]
