Seniorly.com (established in 2014) is an online marketplace for senior living that helps older adults find senior housing options across the United States.[1][2][3]

History

[edit]

Seniorly was founded in 2014 in California by Arthur Bretschneider, Sushanth Ramakrishna, and Kunal Shah. CEO Arthur Bretschneider drew inspiration from his grandfather, Hans Bretschneider, who opened one of the first purpose-built senior living facilities in Mill Valley, California, in 1962.[4]

In 2016, Seniorly launched its short-term stays product, often referred to as the "Airbnb of assisted living."[5] Seven years after its establishment, Seniorly secured $6.5 million in funding from Arnie Whitman and his firm, Formation Capital. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Seniorly introduced a free daily show for seniors called Curtain Up, designed to entertain and connect with them live. Notable individuals, including Bethany Joy Lenz, participated in the show.[6][1]
