Sekong (or Xekong; Lao: ເຊກອງ, pronounced [séː kɔ̀ːŋ]) is the capital city of Sekong Province, Sekong District, Laos. It was created in 1984 after it was ascertained that Ban Phon's unexploded ordnance made it uninhabitable.[2]
