Samaraditya Pal
Samaraditya Pal or Bacchu Pal,[1] (15 December 1938 – 9 March 2023) was an Indian senior advocate and barrister. He was one of the most prominent barristers of the Calcutta High Court.[2] His wife, Ruma Pal,[3] was a justice of the Supreme Court of India.[4]
Life and career
[edit]Pal completed his schooling from St Xavier’s School and passed from Presidency College, Kolkata. He passed LL.B from Calcutta University. Pal acquired his barrister degree from Inner Temple, London.[5] Pal authored books on various subjects of law, which were published by LexisNexis.[6] He had represented several famous cases,[7] amongst them were representing Tata Motors[8] and the Election Commission[9] of West Bengal in Panchayet Poll.[10]
Pal died at age 84 on 9 March 2023 in Kolkata.[11][12][13]
