STONEX India is a company specialising in the marble and natural stone industry. The company imports over 500 natural stones from Italy, Spain, Greece, Brazil, Turkey, etc.[1]

History

[edit]

STONEX India was founded by Gaurav Agrawal, Saurav Agrawal, and Vikas Agrawal as a partnership company dealing in natural stones in Delhi since 2001.[2][3]

Stonex started importing 100% of its marble in 2007, handling its processing and distribution while securing exclusive rights to Rover (Italy) Composite Marble in North India.[4] In 2011, the company launched a fully air-conditioned, multi-tier experience center in Delhi.[3][5][4] Stonex opened marketing offices in Chandigarh and Ahmedabad in 2014 and launched a second experience center in Ahmedabad in 2015, along with introducing the Laminam and Natura brands in Delhi.[6]

In 2016, the company established a nationwide sales and distribution network.[7][8] In 2017, Stonex formed a joint venture with Laminam Italy for ceramic slabs and established Stonelam Surfaces LLP, preparing for local production of Laminam ceramic slabs by 2024–2025.[9][10] By 2018, the company built Asia's largest and cutting edge tech marble processing center in Kishangarh, Rajasthan with 8-step Stone Reinforcement Process (SRS) marble processing technology.[11][12]

By 2020, the company recorded an annual turnover of ₹300 crore with sales of 8 million sq. ft. of marble and introduced exterior and landscape natural stone products.[13][14] In 2023, Stonex became the first company in the marble industry to adopt a fixed pricing policy and produce 20mm marble in India, as per the global standard in marble.[15][8]

In August 2024, STONEX India introduced the docuseries Mastery on Disney+ Hotstar, featuring contemporary artists and their work, with a focus on craftsmanship and artistic practices.[16]
