The seventh season of the American police procedural television series S.W.A.T. premiered on CBS on February 16, 2024,[1] and ended on May 17, with a total of 13 episodes. S.W.A.T. follows an elite Special Weapons and Tactics unit of the Los Angeles Police Department. The show is based on the 2003 film S.W.A.T. and the original 1975 TV series of the same name, which is a spinoff series of the 1972 crime drama series The Rookies.
The series was originally cancelled by CBS after six seasons on May 5, 2023.[2][3] Three days later, on May 8, CBS and Sony reached a new agreement to renew the series for a seventh and final season.[4] The season was impacted by both the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike and 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.[5]
For the 2023–24 U.S. television season, the seventh season of S.W.A.T. ranked #29 with an average of 6.17 million viewers.[6]
